Mrs. Shade Olukoya is the devoted wife of Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM). With her graceful demeanor and unwavering commitment, she provides steadfast leadership alongside her husband, contributing immensely to the growth and spiritual direction of the MFM Church.
Born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Adesanya, Sister Shade is the fifth of seven children. She was raised in a God-fearing, Christ-centered home, where the entire family worshipped at the Christ Apostolic Church. Her father, a seasoned Marine Engineer with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), placed strong emphasis on education, ensuring that all his children received quality schooling.
For her primary education, Sis. Shade attended Surulere Baptist School on Modupe Johnson Street. She later proceeded to Reagan Memorial Baptist Girls’ Secondary School in Sabo, Yaba, and also attended Ajjeh Comprehensive High School during the Jakande administration in Lagos State. Driven by her passion for the arts, she traveled to the United Kingdom, where she studied at Darnley Career Academy in London, earning diplomas in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, and Interior Decoration. She further obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from the University of East London and completed a Master’s Research Degree in Fine Art from the prestigious Royal College of Art, London.
A naturally gifted artist, Mrs. Shade Olukoya is the creative illustrator behind nearly all of the 250 books (as of July 2015) authored by her husband. Her artistic journey began in childhood, when her deep appreciation for nature sparked curiosity about God and His creation. Encouraged by her father, she honed her artistic talents and developed a unique gift for imaginative composition—something she regards as a special endowment from God.
In addition to her artistic contributions, Mrs. Olukoya serves as the International Coordinator of the MFM Women’s Foundation, a ministry initiative focused on empowering women through adult literacy programs and skill acquisition training. Under her leadership, the foundation continues to uplift and transform the lives of countless women within and beyond the church.
Fondly known as Mummy G.O., she is also a passionate and skilled musical performer. A gifted soloist, she ministers through hymns and diverse forms of Christian music, always led by the Holy Spirit. On special occasions, she and Dr. Olukoya delight the congregation with powerful duet performances—an experience cherished by many.
Spiritually, Sis. Shade is a firebrand. From her youth, she has operated in the prophetic through deep dreams and visions. Her messages and ministrations during church services and special programs are marked by spiritual depth, clarity, and powerful results—all to the glory of God.
